Contol Your System From a PC

2002.02.10

Cool & Heat AIRCO has added a line of communicating thermostats from April Aire that allow you to control one or multiple HVAC systems from your personal computer. When your computer is turned off, these thermostats are also capable of acting alone.

This type of thermostat can be monitored, set, and controlled from one centralized location, such as your personal computer. When there is a need for controlling three or more thermostats, this is the type for you. It's called a communicating thermostat because it "talks" with home automation equipment and software to provide different areas of your home with maximum comfort, all from one location.

The appearance of Aprilaire Communicating Thermostats means they fit perfectly into today's finest homes. Or, through the use of flush-mount sensors, the communicating control can be located out of sight. Remote sensors even allow you to monitor temperature-sensitive areas such as enclosed swimming pools or wine cellars. You can also set a limit to how much a setpoint can be changed at the thermostat or lock it out altogether.
