It is imperative that, before contracting to have any kind of work done whatsoever on your home, that you check with the Better Business Bureau.

Call (713)868-9500 and get a BBB report on the company you are considering using. If the BBB report on the company is classified as "unsatisfactory", drop them like a hot potato.

If the company you are considering using is incorporated, click on this link to the Texas Secretary of State website. If your search does not find the corporation you are looking for, it is a fake entity, designed to win your trust then rip you off. While you are there, also check to see if the corporation is in compliance. If not, get away from that company quickly.

In the last several years, a number of con artists have moved into the Houston Metropolitan area and are victimizing homeowners, vendors, and anyone else they can scam money from. Homeowners have paid out millions of dollars to these bottomfeeders, only to find that, instead of getting the remodeling job they paid for, they have ended up with nothing.

One horror story that I personally know of involves a woman who paid her entire life savings of around $80,000.00 to have her home remodeled. She moved to an apartment while the inside of her home was torn apart in preparation for the remodeling. After the demolition phase of the job was finished, the contractor quit work on the home. Not only does she have no home to come back to, but the City of Houston forced her to pay for boarding up her home. The Nigerian national who conned her out of all of her money is still in business, although he is presently being investigated by the Houston District Attorney's office for his unscrupulous practices. Homeowners who are duped into doing business with these con artists end up gettiing burned in many ways:

1) Losing their hard earned money to crooks.
2) Sometimes losing their homes because they are no longer habitable.
3) Having liens put on their homes by subcontractors who were not paid by the crooks.
4) The severe emotional distress caused by being ripped off.

In this section, I am keeping a list of companies that Cool & Heat AIRCO has come into contact with, whom we have personal knowledge that they have been ripping people off. This is our references section – Bad references, that is. You will do well to stay clear of these companies. If you need further information on any company listed here, or if you have information, please contact us.
